2015 Zombie Thrill Run Success Spooktacular
The First Annual Zombie Thrill Run (2013)
We started on this journey in 2013. It was our 1st Zombie Thrill Run in support of breast cancer research. We weren’t sure what to expect but as the word got out in the Ottawa Valley, it was no surprise that out first Zombie Thrill run brought in over $18,000 for breast cancer research. Participants, volunteers and sponsors really stepped up with frightening Zombie costumes, unimaginable time dedication and genuine commitment to the cause.
The Second Annual Zombie Thrill Run (2014)
In 2014 the 2nd annual Zombie Thrill Run took place. Sadly we were mourning the loss of a very dear friend who was taken by this sickness. In her name, the event really hit home with all participants, volunteers and sponsors. The turn-out was incredible, surpassing any predictions that were made by event organizers. At the end of the day this spooktacular event raised $25,035.
The Third Annual Zombie Thrill Run (2015)
As the journey continued in 2015, Tammy Blackmore [the event organizer], knew this Zombie Thrill Run was going to be the biggest one yet. 1056 Participants, volunteers and sponsors all kicked it up a notch. At the same time many were mourning the loss of another dear friend taken far too early by this disease. Gayle Bishop was this year’s honorary survivor who helped many really understand how close to home an illness like this can be. This motivated everybody even more, acknowledging the righteousness of the commitment to the cause.
